TRACA INFANTE D.HENRIQUE
This is a gallery with an infamous history. It was originally a slave market
said to be the first in Europe. Now it has a much more pleasant use, exhibiting
art work of mainly local artists. Throughout the summer it is home to many
shows each lasting between 1 and 2 weeks so its always worth dropping in to
see what's new. As well as paintings there are sculptures and even mosaic
exhibitions. Some of the work can be a little expensive for many, but often
there are limited edition prints and smaller pieces on offer. Drop by on your
way to the beach and enjoy the atmosphere usually the artist will be there
to talk about his/her work which makes it an interesting visit.
